Bodytrim support thread

As far as I am aware there isn't a support thread here already so I've started one for everyone who is on the Bodytrim programme or has a question to join.

For further details please see-

http://www.bodytrim.eu/

I am very keen to hear about everyone's progress and too see if it has been worth the time and expense compared to other weight loss/diet programmes that people have tried.

Good luck and welcome !

I aim to start 100% tomorrow. I have just been to Tesco with my food list to prepare for 3 days of protein only. I have stocked up on lots of lean meat and fish - which I am not a big fan of, but am prepared to give it a go. I wore my pedometer around Tesco and clocked up over 1200 steps.
I found the dvds very informative and I like the way the the science was explained, although there is a lot to take in and I am glad that there is reference guide as well.

I did my weigh in this morning -
    Height - 175cm
    Weight- 101kg (222 lb and 10.67 oz)
And have calculated my BMI at 33 which puts me well into the obese section. Nice.

Well I think those stats above should motivate me and keep me motivated.

Here we go with day one proper. Have just spent 10 minutes preparing my food for the day. I am having 3 hard boiled eeggs, 2 for breakfast and 1 for protein snack mid afternoon. I have grilled 2 chicken breasts, packed up some cottage cheese (which I had never eaten till yesterday) and for a mid morning protein snack I have a tin of tuna.
Looking forward to what the day will bring and how I will feel at the end of it. I ate noting but protein yesterday after breakfast but am call today day one.
  • Another lamb to the slaughter of commercial fad diets. never mind the science they told you have a look at what a pure protein diet will do for your kidneys (and your bum for that matter)
Who I am is not important. What I do is.
  • Honestly Jim, I'm not sure how healthy in the long run eating like this is.

If you're using it to kickstart your diet and only plan on doing it for a very short time then fine but eating a protein rich diet like this can cause a whole host of problems not to mention constipation and lethargy.

I'd be wary of any diet which says you don't need to exercise. Everyone should exercise. The problem with all diets is that once you come off them, the weight tends to go back on again.

I speak as someone who has had eating disorders in the past and the only way to control your weight is through eating sensibly (boring I know!) and exercise.

Sorry to be such a wet blanket. I think it's great that you're doing something about your weight but I think you'd be better off eating 'properly' meaning eating some carbs, veg and smaller amounts of protein rather than this.

    Good luck.

Don't panic ! Its only pure protein for 3 days to kick start the process and I have to exercise by walking 30 minutes everyday . After the first month more strenuous exercise can be introduced.
After the 3 day induction I can introduce a very small amount of carbs into the diet such as a piece of wholemeal toast for breakfast a few times a week, or a banana. Once the desired weight has been achieved carbs can be eaten more often as long as it is only for breakfast or lunch, but not in the evenings.
Thanks for wishing me good luck- I need it !

I have now finished my 3 days of carb detox and have just had loads of cauliflower and broccoli with my protein portion- welcome back vegetables ! I feel ok and am looking forward to a bit more variety now and I am planning my meals for next week which will include lots of salad leaves at lunch time with chicken tikka. I aim to make Sundays my free day and will have my first one a week tomorrow, but I wont go overboard and shall just probably have a full Sunday roast.

First week completed and I feel fine. Glad to be eating lots of vegetables and salad after the 3 day carb detox phase. I have no cravings and I am looking forward to Sundays weigh in.

Well I have just had my first weigh in since 15/09/09 when I was -
    Weight- 101kg (222 lb and 10.67 oz)
    This morning I am-
    95 kg = 209 lb and 7.02 oz
I am over the moon ! 6kg / 13 lb lost in 12 days. I knew I had lost weight when I was pottering about yesterday and I kept having to pull my shorts up.
The lightest I have been for 4 years is 89kg, I could pass this milestone in just two weeks. Who would have thought that eating 6 times a day would result in the weight falling of.
  • Well done! That's fabulous! I've been on the bodytrim diet for 8 weeks now and have lost 24lbs so far. I think that's the longest I've ever been on a diet without cheating - but I just don't feel the need too, I know if I just wait until Saturday, I can eat whatever it was that I wanted.

Keep up the good work!! :T

Fantastic Liselou ! Its amazing how there is just no temptation to cheat, I had my first free day yesterday and I wasn't even that fussed so I treated myself to a bag of dry roasted peanuts to munch on whilst watching the grand prix and for dinner I had Yorkshire puddings and stuffing with my Protein meal.
Have been on a protein only day today but already looking forward to tomorrows chicken salad for lunch. I am not one for weighing my self all the time but I am looking forward to Sunday mornings weigh in.
Did you find the dvd funny? Its a bit crocodile dundee, but it made sense and I felt that I would be able to give it a go, I am glad that I did but I feel like I am the only one doing this diet, A work coleague asked today how I had lost somuch weight in 12 days and when I said that I ate 6 times a day she started askling me all these questions ! Hopefully others doing the diet will start to post on here with their stories. Good luck.
