I think this is incredibly ars3y. If your generosity is not altruistic and only aimed at getting you something in return, then I think the majority of people would rather you didn't bother. If I am giving something away that I'm not going to use, then I don't care too much about getting thanks for it - my good feeling comes from knowing that I helped someone out that I didn't know. Clearly your motivation to give only comes from getting an ego boost from those who bow down at your feet and thank you repeatedly for your codes.

Having said that, it is still nice to thank someone for whatever, but it not something that should be expected, especially when you know the codes will be taken by people who are not even a member of the forum.
