Swimming Lessons - Belfast Area

Does anybody know of one to one swimming lessons being offered for kids (primary school age) in the belfast area? If so could you post details? How much would I expect to pay?

I recommend Templemore Avenue - about £35 for 10 lessons.

Again, can't remember exact prices but thought it was reasonable. It's at Lisburn leisureplex which is very accesible if you're in South, North or West Belfast.
There's one at the Queen's PEC which I've never used but gather it's reasonably expensive.

How strange! I was just about to offer my swimming lessons 1-2-1 but i am not in your area i'm afraid - £35 for 10 lessons is brilliant but is that group as around here 1-2-1 lessons are about £15 per lesson..........

ps i am a fullt qualified swim teacher

The Templemore Ave lessons are group lessons with groups of up to 6 or 8 I would think per class. The younger ones are in the shallow end with the teacher in the water. The older ones progress to the deeper end and learn diving aswell. It is all very noisy and good fun, they have a splash session at the end of every 9 lessons. I think because of the good price, there is a long waiting list but its worth checking and adding your name as people drop out.

What do i need to check of a potentional swim teacher? should they have insurance? If so where from? And how do i know fully qualified? What certificates should they have?

Child needs one to one as these group lessons at the council pool havent been producing results as yet!

i know it's not in your area but my boys go to a private pool down beside Kirkstown race track with a very good instructor £40 for 10 lessons between 6 - 9 in the class, if anyone want the number pm me - my eldest is in his third year and when he started he hated the water and it took a long time and paitence on the part of the instructor but now he swims very well and only keeps going because he loves it and wants to get better at swimming under water, have put quite a few in touch who have since used them.
