Hi ,I have some cooked sausages left over some from saturday lunch and some from tea yesterday(my poor kids must be sick of sausages!).Just wondering if it is safe to re-fry them and have them for tea tonight(to go with baked potatoes).Would it be best to slice them up first to make sure they are heated through.Or just add them to some beans, and heat with them,or is it o.k to just microwave them as they are? never quite sure how long cooked meat lasts in the fridge,or the best way to reheat it.
Thanks in advance.
Thanks in advance.

If your kids have had sausages two days running already I'd be tempted to throw them in the bin and do cheesy baked potatoes with beans... not sure if they would still be ok though if you really really want to use them up.... I wouldn't heat them in the microwave just in case....#6 of the SKI-ers Club :j

Reheating food is problematic. Food needs to reach 65 degrees throughout to start killing germs. So reheat with care. Alternatively (as they were cooked Sat and have been in the fridge) serve cold.
If in doubt, dont take chances. Especially with children. Their tums have built up enough bacteria yet to cope with a doggie sausage.HKP

According to various food safety websites, cooked meat lasts 10 days as long as it's been in a fridge.

Wouldn't you? Ever bought cooked ham from the deli counter? I have no idea how long the same ham is displayed and carved from, but I would imagine that in some cases it could easily be a good few days, and then you keep it in your fridge for four or five more using it in sandwiches etc. It is surprising what seems horrible when you know and what doesn't when you don't...;)
As regards the OPs sausages. If you didn't kill anyone on Saturday, you won't today providing they are all cooked right through. Nuke 'em and eat 'em.0 -
its only monday today ! id def eat sausages that were cooked on sat and have been in the fridge !
