Hi all! My partner Rory and I are also finalists in Rock Radios bin the banga competition!
The winner is decided by texting in votes, which cost 25p to vote and then a further 25p to enter a competition to win £500 (drawn on October 2nd!) (The answer to the question when asked is 'Day').
Let me tell you a bit about why our car deserves to win:
In one fateful week last year the car crashed, got royally
broken into AND completely broke down in the outside lane
of the motorway.
When we moved to Manchester a couple of months ago, there
was a slight misunderstanding on moving day, and I ended
up locking the only set of keys in the car (no central
locking back in the mid 90s!) whilst it was running.
Sadly, the thermostat and fan are long broken, so there is
no emergency over-heating temperature cut out safety
mechanism. After running on the spot for about 10 mins,
the heat from the engine started to melt the bonnet and
the whole thing nearly went on fire - we ended up having
to break into our own car with a claw hammer and a
metallic knife rack (we're nothing if not resourceful) to
stop it from blowing up. The poor removal man was even
recruited and nipped his finger in the process, but in
retrospect, it was a bit worrying that he knew so much
about breaking into cars..!
Over last christmas we went home to Ireland, and the car
sat in the car park at Liverpool airport. Naturally when
we came back late on new years eve it was dead as a
doornail, so we called out tesco roadside recovery (*Best
investment ever made* - They won't renew our cover this
year we've had them out so many times lol), who tried and
failed to start it up, and ended up driving us AND the car
back to Preston in/on a big lorry. The driver was busy
chatting to us about our crappy car en-route home and
wasn't paying much attention, and ended up crashing the
whole lot into a load of roadworks on the hard shoulder. A
cone flew up and smashed the electrics on the truck which
raise and lower the car onto the back, so it was stuck on
the lorry for a few days. We ended up spending our new
year crammed into the front of the mechanics tiny 2 seater
personal tools van driving from Liverpool to Preston at
crazy o'clock. When the car eventually did make it back to
Preston, the mechanics actually managed to get it going -
so Rory promptly drove off to get the battery all charged
back up. Little did he know ALL the brake fluid had leaked
out over 2 weeks sat at the airport... no brakes.
Saving the best for last: as Rory drove it off the
forecourt (his first ever drive solo!) the entire gear
knob came off in his hand as he was pulling out into
Manchester rush hour traffic. It's currently held on with
double sided tape.

We're CAR THREE and would really appreciate the support!
Thank you!

P.s. Sorry Jarvissa, but alls fair in love and competitions, and our car looks like much more of a piece of !!!!!! than yours! The stickers aren't very sticky - apparently they wash off after a few weeks in the rain!
P.P.s Who has 60 in their facebook group?? You have 10-ish, the other guy has about 5 - are there other groups on there too?
xx
