Citicard

Just sent off my DMP with CCCS. Two of my creditors are Citicard and Northern Rock and I am just wandering if they are willing to accept a DMP or not?

  • Hi

Creditors tend to treat each customer differently, my experience with Citi Card is as follows.
I originally set up a self managed DMP and Citi Card accepted my offer almost instantly and froze interest after my second payment had reached them. I Then set up a DMP with CCCS and Citi Card refused my offer, so I sent them a please reconsider your decision letter and they seem to have accepted my offer and frozen interest. How long this will last is anyones guess

I wrote to them asking to freeze the interest and to see if they could offer me some help. They sent me a Income & Expediture form to fill in, which I did. I heard nothing for about 3 weeks and then they sent me another form to fill in, which I did and that was about 8 weeks ago and heard nothing since. So I had not choice but to go to CCCS as they did not respond.

Most will accept an offer through CCCS rather than directly.
However, Citi accepted CCCS payments initially and then sold debt ( with no reference to CCCS) to a DCA. I have reported them to the Financial Ombudsman for doing so.
