As we are having no religious content what so ever in our day do not want to go along with a stand grace/lords prayer before we eat.
The hotel has said the toastmaster will need something to say to announce the meal so wondered if any of you fabulous people had any quirky ideas of which we could steal.
In anticipation i thank you. xx

At our wedding we fortunately didn't have a toast master or anything religious.
The best man just told everyone to start eating.
How about the toastmaster - after announcing your arrival simply says.
"Ladies and Gentlemen, please enjoy your meal"
No need for any big thing at all.0 -
Cheers for the quick reply, thats slightly more pleasant than the one the best man suggested of being - eat, drink and clear off lol.:j Was married 2nd october 2009 to the most wonderful man possible:j

God (lol) I hadn't even considered saying grace or anything simlar. I figure people will just start eating when the starters come out...0

The last wedding I was at the top table got served last!
So we all sat looking at this food until there was a grace said when the top table eventually got their food.
Was a bit of a shambles to be honest0 -
Have been scouring the net for something suitable and only two stick out as not being some form of religion based,
'Good food, good meat, sit down, let's eat' - not going to go down too well with the vegetarians.
and
'Rub a dub-dub, thanks for the grub' lol.
So still looking for a one line pleases all approach.:j Was married 2nd october 2009 to the most wonderful man possible:j

The best man could say
"Here's to the bride and groom and all the love they feel.
Here's to the food before us - so please - enjoy this meal"
Okay two lines but I am cooking at the moment0 -
It is not the best man who is doing the grace it is a dedicated toast master who comes in with our package with the hotel. Thanks for all your effort Julie.:j Was married 2nd october 2009 to the most wonderful man possible:j
