Case for glasses

I have to wear glasses for reading. I am a manual worker and the cases that I keep my glasses in only last for a short time. Does anybody have any recommendations for cases that will survive in my trouser pockets for more than a few weeks?

I think if you asked at your local opticians and explained, thet would have the best range, and if you go to the one where you bought your glasses they would probably give you a case free.
Your lucky that it's only the cases you keep breaking, with me it's the glasses. i sit on them. I keep my glasses from the optician for best and have got about half a dozen pairs from the pound shop, so don't need to be as careful with them.

Sorry if I sound snippy here, but you shouldn't keep your prescription glasses 'for best' - your eyes need looking after! GlassesDirect do cheap ones if you just need a spare pair or two.

I bought a hard case from Paperchase for £4, but as they have few branches try any shop that sells sunglasses (Claire's, Accessorize, Topshop) for a hard case. Otherwise, I think Poundland do them!

Don't get a soft case if they are for your pocket- they are liable to do nothing but save you getting stabbed when the glass breaks! Get a hard case- and bigger trousers so the pocket will carry the glasses case!

I got an excellent one from a local (independent) pound shop for 50p. Very solid - it's metal rather than plastic, with a spring opening action. A little heavier than the plastic ones but it doesn't open and allow your glasses to fall out when dropped like those do.
