moeny for home improvements

I want to get a new kitchen and conservatory amongst some other general home improvements. I reckon I need around £15k. There is about 15 years to go on my mortgage and I really don't want to increase this term. I would expect that I will pay back the money in a 5 - 7 year time frame. What is the best option for me to raise the cash?

Check out the APR's for a loan (pref one that doesnt charge an early repayment penalty..), could you be a 0% credit card tart? Could you cut back your budget to factor some of these works in? You are right in thinking not to add it to your mortgage...

Do you really need £15,000 or are you hoping for a bit of extra money for a rainy day? Only borrow what you need - how much can you afford to repay each month? xx
