Can anyone tell me if we have to pay the csa via d/d? Can we not pay via s/o?

No you don't have to pay by direct debit. You can pay by standing order, we have been doing this for a couple of years. That way you are in control of your money. If you pay by D/D then the CSA can take what they like!Sealed Pot Challenge #817 £50 banked0

Well, my DH was told 3 years ago that he was not able to pay by SO, they would only accept DD!
As others on here seem to have had success with SO's, maybe we'll try again when we next have to get in touch with them. Thanks for the info! The best advice you can give your children: "Take responsibility for your own actions...and always Read the Small Print!"

The way to do it is to let them send you the dd form. In the meantime you can call up and ask for the CSA bank details......set up your own s/o. By the time they realise that you haven't sent the dd form back, the s/o will be being paid, and as long as you are paying, nobody really cares how it gets there.0

However, when things were better, I told the CSA I wanted to cancel the DEO & pay by standing order. To my great surprise, they agreed to do this straight away without any problems.
This was dealt with by Birkenhead CSA approx. 4 years ago & there were no arrears, if that makes any difference.Donedoingdebt Lightbulb moment January 2000. Debt at highest approx £102,000. Debt now (October 2009 - absolutely fork all!!!)

we pay by cheque but only because it's coming up to the end of the liability therefore don't want to over-pay as we'll never get our money back0
