Just wanted to say...

To anyone having trouble getting CSA payments from absent parent, don't give up hope and keep on to CSA regularly. My ex didn't pay (we split in 1995) the csa got various liablity orders and in 2003 I received my 1st lump sum payment. It took until now, and charges on his property to now be paid my final lump sum.
Yes it would have been easier all round to get regular amounts from him, but lump sums can be very useful too!
Ex was self employed which makes chasing even more difficult, but they got him in the end.

Im having this problem just now :(
My case has been open since January 2004 and I havnt seen a penny so far even though my case is now with criminal compliance. He is now self employed also.
Did your case go to court? How did they get the money of him in the end? xx
  • They got liability orders and then they were made into charging orders (a charge put on the title deeds of his house) these were done via the court. Once they have a liability order they can send the bailiffs in (which they did) but they had no joy. They were talking about applying to take his driving licence away or forcing the sale of his house, but in the end he sold the house anyway.

    Good luck with your case.
