                    Hi all,
I am still unemployed at the moment and was BR in July, but I was wondering what will/would happen if I were to get a job now.
Would I have to start making payments of some sort out of a wage, and if so is there a set time period that you have to pay over.
Thanks for any advice
Dave

It depends on how much you earn. If you earn above your expenses by over £99 (I think), then they will take a proportion of that excess.
If set up, an IPA lasts for 3 years from the date it is set up.0 -
if you get a job that gives you a decent wage you may have to pay a 'income payments agreement or order'
There is no set amount that you have to pay, it depends on your wage and your outgoings. If after the end of the month you had £99 left (surplus) after you had paid all your outgoings you would not have to pay, if you had more you would.
outgoings are:
Rent/mortgage
water
gas
electric
council tax
food
phone
clothes
travel
insurance
some child expenses if you have kids
holiday allowance (normally £40 per person)
tv licence
tv rental (if you dont own one)
car tax
mot
car insurance
pertrol
motoring costs
im sure there is a few more, if you start paying a ipa it will last 36 months, it can be suspended any time if your income drops, it can also rise if your income rises.
if your income drops and your situation does not improve for 6 months those 6 months still come out of the origional 36 months.
hope that helps0 -
            Thanks, yes does help.
And if and when I am discharged then no order can be made, is that correct?0 -
Yes if you dont have a IPA in place on the day of your discharge they cant introduce one.0
