Silly question.
I'm trying to work out the timings, (evening buffet thread made me think about it)
My wedding is at 4pm(just confirmed the registra today EEEEEeeee SO exciting)
so there will be the civil ceremony, the blessing/handfasting.
The hotchocolate reception bit. I'm thinking it's comming up to 5pm then.
Nibbly bits with mulled wine or hotchoc - whatever's ya preference.
photo's and posing, dinner just after 6,
then give folk till mebbe half eight to munch and dance and listen to the story teller cut cake etc.
then KABOOOM fireworks.
as a bride and groom would you leave after the fireworks? be heading towards 9pm then.
I'm thinking if we did that it would give all the folk with kids a good break off point to get the littleuns back to various hotels and settled down.
If you're a married lurker - when did you leave your 'do' ???
I'm suddenly irrationally concerned about it :rotfl:

Think we'll be quite late leaving as we're staying on site! Although depending how tired we are we might slope off to our cabin early!!!"Normal is not something to aspire to - it is something to get away from" - Jodie Foster0

Our venue is a bar/restuarant which has its own private nightclub downstairs. We're having a 3 course meal in the upstairs restuarant then going downstairs to the club for a couple of hours of mingling, evening food served at 6.30pm and a DJ starting at 7pm. The venue has made it clear that we have the downstairs exclusive only until 10pm, as then they want to open it to the general public for their usual Saturday club night. So we're planning to leave then at 10pm, but our guests can either stay in the club or go upstairs to the more relaxed bar area, but it seems like a good point for us to make an exit.0

Hi there! Our wedding finishes at 12.30am and I really think I would like to stay all the way until then because I wouldn't want to miss something lol!! I think if you have kids you will just go anyway at a time which you think is best, that is what I would do if I had my DD with me. We are staying at the hotel where we will get married and we aren't going on honeymoon the next day or anything so will definitely be having a lie in!!
