Dmp about to start

Hi All

I am just about to start a DMP (all the advice on here really helped me to make my decision about that so thanks everyone) trying to get all the info ready to send to CCCS and Welcome Finance have asked me to pay £10.00 for a statement any ideas what I can do I obvoisly dont want or can afford to pay £10.00 for a piece of paper.

One other thing I am thinking of changing my number before all the phone calls start is this worth doing.

    Hi,

I'm in a very similar position to yourself in trying to set up a DMP.
In answer to your first question I'm not sure on that one unless you have to provide a statement. If it's for a balance outstanding then I would've thought you could find that out by just calling them. Maybe contact CCCs with your query ?

In answer to your second question rightly or wrongly I've just done that. Mine started over a month ago and, it's been a nightmare. I'm X directory too so at least if you should ring them for whatever reason then they shouldn't ( or at least I hope not ) be able to track your number.

    Good luck on your DMP.

    Karen.

I would personally change my number, otherwise get caller display or a cheap answer phone. They will also call you at work if they have that number.

I think I'd be tempted just to ring for a balance from Welcome - I think with a loan they only have to send out a statement annually.

Whether its worth changing your number depends on how much you need your current number for other things. You can send a letter to all your creditor asking them not to contact you by phone and all future communication should be in writing - this should get rid of most of the calls. If you do get others (an you might for a month or so) just quote your CCCS number at them and hang up, or refuse to confirm your security details.

Here is the letter template if you are interested - http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.html?p=11571485&postcount=4

  • Hi all

Thanks fo the replies i think it was my fault I asked for a statement and not just a written balance cccs told me that.

Yes Tixy you are correct they are anual statements for loans.

Just one more thing I need to write a letter to creditors with a token payment of £1.00 in for this months payments, do you know if there are any template letters on here not sure what to write.
