Bar Hire Cost?

Hello all,

Just did a search but could not find what I was looking for, so basically I have now found a lovely village hall for my reception, however we have to hire a bar for it.

I have emailed a guy for a quote no response yet, but just wondered if anyone else had hired a Bar ? and what you guys think is a reasonable price to pay?

Thanks in advance

Sally

If they are charging for the drinks? Nothing, they should make their money by sales not by up front costs :) Of cause it is worth doing the maths as hiring a bar for £100 and people paying £3 a pint is possibly better than the bar being free but drinks being £5 a pint if you are going to have 200 guests for a whole evening etc

  • Are you using a catering company for food? When we were looking at the village hall option I really wanted a hog roast & most of the companies would also run you a bar at very little (If I remember right they have to pay for a licence?) or no cost. It may be worth looking at them anyway - they may just do the bar? Is it nearby & do you have a 'local'? they may run a bar for you. Also try the wedding hire companies that do marquees (sp?) etc as they may do bars? It may also be worth talking to whoever runs/caretakes the hall as they may know companies that others using the hall have used.Good Luck x

most bar suppliers seem to charge around £100/£150,I know they make a profit on the drinks but they also have extra costs etc

have you asked the village hall commitee if they know someone?
