Don't know if this was a good deal, but given all the circumstances of other retailers,I think it was ok.
Our Candy dishwasher packed up the other day, after 7 years of hard slog in our house. It could be on up to 6 times a day at weekends,so I think we had our money's worth out of it.
So looking for a replacement on t'internet,I found the Indesit IDL530,seemed good value, and the prices ranged from about £185 to whatever you were prepared to pay. Most retailers then charged you for delivery, and only offered a 1 year guarantee on it.Plus,if I remember correctly,Indesit are part of the group that owns Candy,so I would think some of the parts will be similar.
But John Lewis were offering it for £199,free delivery, and 2 year guarantee on it.Plus I found a discount code, bagging me a further £10 off the price, making it £189.
For a brand of appliance that's been around for a while,I don't think that was bad.And even if we only get 2 years out of it,with a similar workload to our now deceased one,I think we'll have done alright.
Sure you can buy the likes of Beko, and other relatively new manufacturers, but what about longevity?
I feel fairly pleased about this, but I'm sure someone will know I could have done better.........

you're not allowed to post the codes on here even if in the discount code board.. which is silly but the rules..
on this note though I think indesit have a decent rep so it will probably be fine.0 -
Had my Indesit washing machine since 1998 and still going strong.0

they do not have a good reputation for reliability speaking to people in the trade.
i think it would be worth going for a better brand such as bosch which come with a 2 year manufacturers warrantyQuinny wrote:Don't know if this was a good deal, but given all the circumstances of other retailers,I think it was ok.

go for a bosch, miele, AEG etc. This is not an automated signature. I write this at the bottom of every message0 -
Which? report in washing machines lists Indesit as below average for reliability. As mentioned, Bosch and Miele come out as above average on reliability.
But then they do cost a lot more!0
