Hen Do - Chocolate Making!!!

Hi,

My bride (chief bridesmaid here) told me yesterday that for her hen do she wants to do a chocolate making expereince and then something spa like!

I was thinking, hurm this might cost a bit, I am happy to do the chocolate making, if anyone can reccomend somewhere that would be great, as I have no idea where to start!

I was then thinking maybe renting a large country house, and having loads of pamper products there and possibly getting a mobile beautician or two to come in, as I think this would work out loads cheaper.

What are your thoughts? I want to try and keep the details of the plan a surprise, but also arrange something along the lines of what she asked for.

Help with the chocolate bit would also be mostly appreciated. thanks
Debt free since July 2013! Woo hoo! The bank actually laughed when I said I have come in to cancel my overdraft.

  • Kinda depends where you are and what the budget is.

I mean I fancy this http://www.choccywoccydoodah.com/ (the chocolate boudoir bit) but at £200 a shot - its sooooo not gonna happen LOL

Gotta say I've not done any of these but I am a total chocoholic and would love to.

I like the idea you had for the in house spa :)

Or you could do the spa day idea and hire a chocolate fountin to have at the same time :)

  • yerh good idea, the chocolate fountin. To be honest for a weekend hen do, i think it would be asking lot for people to pay more then £150, so I am looking at accomodation for aound £50 pppn, and would like to have a hot tub for this as well.

Location is open, I either find a chocolate thing and then a house or house then chocolate thing, although with course prices starting around £60, we might just end up with a chocolate fountin. lol

  • Hi
Have you thought about doing the Twilight Spa at one of the Center Parcs? It's £35 per person for 3 hours, including a glass of bubbly. We did this as part of my hen night and was enjoyed by all!

  • There is a Hotel (Apex ) near me that do a Spa day with lunch for £20 , treatments etc are extra but people could just pick & choose as they wished, might be something local to you.
    Booo!!!
  • no1experience.com do really great prices for hen parties, def worth a look. My mate used them and they had some great ideas and prices.. You dont have to book packages and can just book activities on there own. She had said that as they were a small company, their prices were really competitive and the way she was dealt with was better than other companies she had spoken to. Good luck with your search
