First GAP assignment not gone to plan.

I have just signed up to GAP and had a pizza delivery job to do today. I was to phone them up and order a pizza with side order. There was a £12.50 reimbursement.
I hit 2 very big problems when I made the call.
Firstly I could not make out the name of the server over the phone and then when the price of the order was totted up, it came to over £16.
It was at this point I decided to pull the plug and gave them an excuse to cancel the order. I logged on at the GAP and de-allocated the assignment.
I realise that this could have an effect on my record but I did not want to carry on with the risk that I may not be paid anything at all. Would GAP be understanding if I told them that the name was not clearly audible and also is my assumption that they fully reimburse incorrect.

  • I had done two so far and the one nearest to me is diabolical. If you can't make out the name, you could say so when you input the results. The name is usually on the receipt which they will give during the delivery.

As for the reimbursement, if you get the meal deal, it usually covers. But at certain times, it would go over the £12.50 and you will be a little out of pocket. But you get a delivery for very little money.
  • Even with the dine-in jobs, you need to order the cheapest options for everything (garlic bread without cheese, for example) or it'll put you over the reimbursement amount. Good for a v cheap meal out, but not for upping your income!
  • maybe concentrate on firms like abai, gfk and grassroots..gap is not worth the time with the peanuts they pay compared to thee guys.
