Thanks elantan. Well heard back from head of my course, and she has been understanding about my absence, which is helpful.

Keira is now at the vets, and all I can do is sit here and wait for the call to collect her.

Got a call from vets at 2:30 that everything was ok, and I could arrange to collect Keira. She doesn't look too impressed with me, but still has enough tail to curl it around her b ackside. It ended up costing £266.78 today added to yesterday's costs of £58.25. Grand total of £325.03

Forms have gone in to become CTax Exempt, also to see if i will get any benefit towards my rent (doubt it) but once letter comes through will get this terms rent paid up front.

Got a letter from council other day, and getting £49.12 towards my rent, so only need to pay £9.87 a week towards rent now. Still having problems getting council tax exemption sorted out though. But will get it sorted. Since I have already paid full rent for upto xmas, with the benefits I am now entitled to too, I wont have to pay anymore rent till summer holidays now. So that's a nice £825 extra left from next terms Student loan than I was expecting. Bit of a late Xmas is going to be happening I think.

  • Received a letter last week from council asking to see my latest tax credit award letter, to see if i was still eligible for free school meals (I have been paying for them since half term). Anyhow I took my award letter in that day, and have called them today. Apperently I have been entitled continuously to them. So have called the schools today (god job since one son has left his dinner money at home). So that is another £24 a week better off or £336 a term better off.

So in total I am £1161 a term better off than what I was expecting to be.

  • Finally got my Parental Learning Allowence through on Christmas eve., so that takes my money up by £1508 a year.
