Advice regarding bank cheques

I owe some money to HFC Bank. Basically it isn't much and I have until the 9th of December to pay it off without incurring charges and interest.

They only take a cheque payment, Standing order is too much hassle for both parties.

I don't have a cheque book. Is there anyway a bank can issue a cheque if I pay for it?

Like I say can you do me a cheque for £50 payable to "whoever"?

Or is this going to cost me a bomb in charges?

Cheers
