We are just looking into the possiblity of moving house. We would have approx 140k deposit on a 285k house. our total earnings currently are 37k, we have no other debt, would it be possible on our salary to get a 140-150k mortgage. Any thoughts?

Without knowing all your details it's impossible to give a definate answer.
However looking at the income multiples etc I would say it seems do-able yes.
Hope this helps

Myeslf and my partner have almost identical gross earnings to youself, we had no debt (apart from student loan) and we have managed to obtain 138000 with a 10% deposit on our first property with the Alliance and Leicester.
Nationwide also appear top be offering mortgages based on affordability too.
I would say that with your deposit there should not be any major issues.0 -
