My brother has just come back from Tesco and he went there to purchase a freeview box which records live tv, a bit like the sky plus box. It was the Thomson box with 160g memory, he thought it was £70 which is still cheap but when it was scanned at the tills it was £30 i hope this helps someone like my brother as he cannot afford to pay for sky every month

Was just going to post 'it gets terrible reviews'. I know this deal was posted on HUKD a few days ago and got slated because people said it was a poor product.0

I got one from Asda about 3 months ago for £45, the recording part of the box has stopped working, so back to Asda i go. If you get a box that doesn't do this, its a great price!__________________________________

We have a Humax - it's great. Costs more, but reliable.0

Spotted in Asda same price yesterday. Saw someone taking one back which doesn't endow confidence in them.0

We bought a Thompson box from Asda last year-it constantly freezes, misses scheduled recordings & switches itself off when you change channel!
Would be tempted to replace it for £30, but have lost all confidence in this product & suspect we would be no better off.0 -

Not in my case!
Bought Humax 9150T 3 months ago, it has frozen 4 times and since Friday evening has refused to load up, just constantly filling the load up bar, then starting again, have been onto the Humax forum, and whilst a couple of ideas this machine will not work, and it looks like I will have to have a repair or exchange, meaning I will lose everything I have on the HDD, something that would not happen with a VCR or DVDR.
Doubt I will get another PVR as if they go wrong you lose your recordings!
Will need to phone Humax tomorrow on their rip off 0844 number to get assistance on their faulty product!Don`t steal - the Government doesn`t like the competition0 -
i have the Humax 9200 just over a year now, great little machine, no faults,
easy to use and record, none of this messing about settings on a vcr.0 -
