Samuel Windsor shoes

In the Guardian today there is a big ad for 2 pairs of Samuel Windsor handmade shoes for £60. Sounds a bargain. Anybody have any experience with them?

I ordered a couple of pairs in the past but wasn't impressed. One pair was mouldy (and smelt absolutely disgusting). I may have just been unlucky but I didn't reorder.

We're big fans of Samuel Windsor in this house. The shoes are handmade and pretty good quality - I'm not sure about taff007's experience (and companies can't put things right if no-one tells them there's a problem). The brogues aren't as solid as say, Church's, but they are good shoes and boots and we'd recommend them. They are certainly excellent value for the money.

We used them on offer couple of years ago. Quality good but service lacking - VERY slow and inadequate response to queries.

I have bought them in the past and they are good shoes, however all the pairs I have bought have slight imperfections, but in fairness in places you wouldn't notice whilst being worn. I suspect that they are probably selling off their seconds with these offers.

Additionally if you have wider than average feet, you may find that most of the popular styles one might buy don't come in a wider size. But for the price they are sold for you cannot fault the quality and I have always found the CS friendly and helpful.
