Well these were goals from a while ago however I completely forgot about them what with having our unwanted "visitors" to the house on Tuesday...so here they are, if I have met any of these I'll be gobsmacked!
1. Again, try to get exercise. ha ha ha. That'll be a no then.
2. Have at least three no spend days (apart from bus fare if needed - I can't do much about that!) Ditto.
3. Do some searching/clicking to earn pennies & points via QuidCo & Pigsback. Yep, actually...did some whilst taking a break from searching around for burglar alarms etc. So that's one goal met! (Not hard though was it?)
4. Do not use tumble dryer. Success! Didn't use it once, didn't even think about it to be honest.
5. Search for cheap ways to get to Holland in October. No, that went right out of the window. Bottom of priorities list at the moment.
6. Transfer any money that makes its way into my account through QuidCo or Amazon sales etc into separate account to pay for concert ticket I have booked on VISA card - this must be paid off immediately when bill comes in!
No - QuidCo money hasn't cleared in PayPal yet, it should clear this week (10th) so I will do it then.
Still not thinking completely straight at the moment so goals are going to be very very simple:
1. Scrub carpet with StarDrops and warm water where finger printing dust has managed to fall. I thought it had vaccuumed up but I can clearly see now it hasn't!
2. Get a pair of fabby boots reheeled so I don't ruin them, I won't be able to find another pair like them again I am sure.
3. Bank some coppers & silver instead of using CoinStar at Sainsburys. I found out the HSBC bank in the town I work has a machine which sorts out coin and banks them for you...and I can take the car to work this week instead of having to bus it...so that's good! :j
4. Whilst I have the car, stock up on Tesco soya milk which is much cheaper than Sainsburys - easier as I can get it home in the car.
5. Find someone who can fit a new triple valve to washing machine cheaply! (Yes another problem has reared its ugly head in the Little-Unluckiest-House-of-the Week-on-the-Prairie)
If I can't manage these then I may as well pack up and begin cave dwelling immediately.
Good luck everyone!Bank Balance: In the black for the moment.
Sainsburys Loan: Cleared July 2010
Credit cards: AMEX Airmiles Card: direct debit set to clear balance monthly

Well, I tohught Id done quite badly on this, but lets see, dont think its as bad, as I thought
1. Scout around further for discounts on my lightfittings ( yep, satisfied there was nothing better for cheaper £100 in heals- budgeted for)
2. relist light fitting on ebay with decent photos ( nope, just cant get it right ..)
3. hopefully transfer my balances to my new 0% card from barclaycard ( not sure about doing this really, I might have some cash to shuffle, need to think about it)
4. Clarify whether i am actually in debt to my housing association, if im not then a further 350 comes off my sig ( not heard that I do still owe them even though sent 4 emails to my housing officer, will leave it 4 more weeks then take it off my sig :j )
5.Do my ever increasing pile of filing DONE :T
6. Find cheap van for the boot sale ( going splits with a mate) (Secured £50 for 24 hours, a transit)
7. If van found, do last final sorting for the boot sale and do it on Saturday or sunday next week ( did it on saturday, and made £155 and bought three bargain things out of my houserenovation budget saving me about £85 out of that lamp/shoe cupbard/towel rail ( £15 for the three, had budgeted about 100 for them!!*YES!!!*)
HAsnt been a bad week at all
Next week
Start thread on what to do about my balance transfers & take advice
Send DPA letters to mastercard & barclaycard
Do a PROPER shop, which is what we failed to do last week, poor planning, need to get back on track.
Get enough food for work lunches AND TAKE IN. MAke something OS for lunches ( will do tomorrow, as Im off again for the day)
Take the cash from the bootsale to the bank & sort the coppers before into sandwich bags.
Book megabus down to bournemouth for our gorgeous week at the beach house, with a bit of luck we can manage the whole week away for less than £80 between us.Need to think about that more. Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -

This week:
1) packed lunch everyday

3) become domestic goddess, boyfriend now working full time so need to do more of the housework.
4) get a haircut, haven't had one for 6 months and i'm a bridesmaid for my sister on 20th May so want to get rid of split ends.

Hi, I haven't posted for a while as I have been a bit off track, but I have just re-assessed the budget and need to set myself some goals:
1. Bring lunch from home 4/5 days.
2. Weekly shop budget £15, use up store cupboard.
3. Exercise 3 times this week (people keep giving up their seats on the tube, although handy, it is a little embarassing). Use the free pass gained on the freebies board.
4. Have 4 no spend days.
5. Call garage and reduce car service booked for saturday to a basic one, it has not done enough miles to warrant a full one (do not be persuaded otherwise).
6. Call T-Mobile to find out why the £10 has not come off my bill  (signed up for another year and instead of getting a new phone opted for the £10 a month off line rental).
Good news though, in the 2 months I have been a member I have paid off/ saved £5,600. :TSaving for an early retirement!0 -
Goals for w/c 30/4/06
1. 3 no spend days - no, 2. It all went to pieces organisationally at the end of the week because a pain in the neck (literal...) meant I kept putting off the necessary shopping.
2. Do monthly accounts - again no. I'm waiting on a statement which is a partial excuse (but a rubbish one because I could do lots of prep and I don't *need* to treat it as a sit down project!)
3. Look at utilities switching - no. This one is pure despair - the comparison engines just don't seem to work properly for us so I usually have to do a lot of rate finding and working out. This time I will also have a nightmare even getting detailed figures as I can't pull out paper statements to go through. However we've been charged the new monstrous rate today so that will be a spur.
4. Keep the heating off - yes, 100%. OH has a tendency to put the heating on if he thinks the weather has got a bit colder, but opens windows as soon as he's warm again - I'm policing him!
5. Talk with OH about garden planning - yes though I'm trying to be as realistic as possible that we aren't going to have a transformation, just move away from the current horror to something passable.
6. Sort out next two b'day presents - I've sorted the preliminaries - ie picked an item for bro and asked sister what is acceptable for niece but am short on actual results at the moment.
7. Book theatre tickets - yes done, we're going Thurs and I'm really looking forward to it.
Overview - a so-so week scuppered by general ill-health, I seem to have one ailment and another and it's not very conducive to knuckling down to jobs.
New goals w/c 7/5/06
1. 2 no spend days
2. Accounts
3. Utilities
4. Go to bed at a sensible time
5. Shop for trainers
6. Help clear house of late relative and volunteer to freecycle what SIL doesn't Ebay
7. 3 chocolate free daysDo I Need One Stops All Unnecessary Reckless Spending£2 CSC - £30 :kisses3:0 -
Uhhh, I am a bit late with mine this week...
Last week’s goal were
1. revise every day neary. Some BIG EXTRA effort at the weekend saved my study plan
2. home made lunches and walking to and from the train station Walking - BIG YES, lunches - could try better
3. think about where to get an extra £300 to go to a festival in Denmark Not going to Denmark now - talked myself out of it - too expensive. Jeez, I am changing my spending habbits...
This week:
1. keep to my study plan
2. eat more fruit and veg. Who needs crisps, pretzels and other junk?
3. go for an hour walk 3 days a week
Manageable, achivable, feasible... that is me0 -
Hi everyone,
it has been quite a while since I last posted. I have just returned after a month with my son in a hospital in Thailand. He is recovering well. Thank you to everyone who sent good wishes, they were very much appreciated. I am still not over the jet lag, and not back in to routine. I am not going to set any goals for this week, apart from looking after my son while he convalesces! I think I shall probably lurk for a while, and try to get back into my real life again.
All the best,
Serena. It is never too late to become what you were always intended to be0 -

Hello Serena,
You have been missed - I'm so glad to hear your son is getting better - it must have been a crazy few weeks for you and I doubt it will get back to normal for a while yet.
Anyway - don't do anything except rest and help your son to convalese - thinking of you
