Hi there, I'm going to one of many family bbq's tomorrow and have got stuck for idea's!
I have made chocolate & orange trifle, different types of flans with fruit.
Cakes, and cheesecakes and much more.
I'm really stuck as I don't want to heat things up I just want to serve it up quickly and also feed all these big eaters
Many thanks for any idea's!

I love this dessert (and am always posting it
):
a range of soft fruit (autumnal may be nice now) mixed as layer in a relevantly sized dish (size of dish depends on number of people being served).
half and half mixtures of whipped cream and greek yoghurt - about the same amount (or more for a richer taste) as the fruit, placed on top as a thick layer.
Cover with brown sugar (I usually use demara but my friend recommended muscovato) and leave in the fridge overnight.

Pavlova topped with seasonal fruit has to be one of the most simple dessert recipes.
Or a recipe my mum used to make in the 70's:
You'll need a couple of packets of gingernut biscuits (tesco do value ones which are very cheap) Dip each biscuit in orange juice then spread one side with whipped cream and sandwich the biscuits together. Keep doing this until the soaked biscuits form two long rolls. Use the remainder of the cream to cover the rolls of biscuits and sprinkle with flaked chocolate or fruit. Keep in the fridge for a couple of hours and the biscuits go cake-like absorbing the flavour of the juice. If not serving kids it's good to add a splash of brandy or whisky to the orange juice.
There's an earlier thread with lots of ideas that may help so I'll add your thread to it later:

Pavlova always goes down well........[0

Made this recently for a family get together and it went down well!
3-4 pots Mullerlite yogurt (I use vanilla)
Approx 350g rasperberries or summer berries or a mix of any berries, defrosted if frozen
2 egg whites
4 tbspns caster sugar
Whip egg whites until soft peaks gradually add the sugar and whip again until stiff and glossy.
Combine fruit with yogurt in a large mixing bowl and then gently fold in the egg white mixture, place bowl in freezer for a couple of hours until frozen around edges.
Remove from freezer and whisk again until light and fluffy.
Grease a 2lb loaf tin and line with cling film, overlapping all around. Pour in mixure and fold clingfilm over to cover. Place in freezer overnight.
To serve, remove from freezer 15 mins or so beforehand and tip out onto a plate. Serve in slices.0 -

It's gert lush
The hardest thing to it is whipping the cream - everything else is more assembly and then after it's been in the fridge - the sugar's melted to a lovely looking topping.
