Saturday 12th & Sunday 13th September - What small DFW things have you done this week

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free
Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important
Morning All,
Been awake since 3:30 and have been itching to post here, so I hope that no-one minds if I start the thread today.
Hello to everyone who posts today.
Today I have/will:
• Checked online banking - no change there but still nice to see that my bills are covered with another 2 payday's to go
• Meals from storecupboards
• Have an NSD – I have started a spreadsheet to track my NSD’s
• Enter comps online
• Put a jumper on rather than putting the heating on
• I have looked for a banana and cranberry recipe to use up bananas which are past their best and dried cranberries which are due to go off at the end of the month
• I will make sure that I have me time today – possibly watch a film
• I will sit down and devise a meal plan combining Weight Watchers and Low GI :T
• I will print out meal plan for mum for info (she needs help with ideas etc sometimes) :rolleyes:
• I will continue to drink water (filtered from a tap) rather than squash or coffee
• I will have a shower in a moment and use value deodorant rather than own brand (I tend to do this at the weekend as I don’t really do anything)
I am sure there will be other things, but for now, this is it – take care everyone

Did the washing which is out on the line right now;
Got 3 books to list on Ebay;
Will wash the car and go to the gymAlmost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!0 -
Done so far:
- washing out on the line (lots of odd bits like the bathroom mats, that have been waiting for a good day)
- Clicks & Pigsnout comps
- DD back to college so a good tidy round the house & hoovered her room (better than the gym
)
- DH used Sainsbury's 5p 0ff per litre coupon to buy petrol
- tidied up the front garden (last 'free' garden recycling collection this month, so we'll make the most of it)
- shortened a pair of trousers
- unwanted items & spare carrier bags into the charity shop bag
- store cupboard meals planned
- sorted shoe cupboard, 'found' a pair I'd forgotten about
To do:
- hang charity shop picture now that repainted fram has dried
- carry on painting the solid wood charity shop furniture, to replace manky flat pack stuff (so shabby chic, so mse
) I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.0 -
Afternoon all....
Not a very DFW day today - have already been shopping and bought 3 bought and a dress - in my defence the three tops were all in the sales and cost £19 for all 3 and the dress was just really nice and reduced to £35. - I set myself a budget of £50 to spend and was over by £4 but to compensate I went home for lunch instead of getting a Subway and had jam on toast - the price of vanity!- Have walked dog twice - the second one in the park
- Driven sensibly
- Picked up wedding tiara thingy - mum paid for it
- Tidied upstairs
- Written shopping list - can't be bothered to go shopping yet
- Taken burger baps out of freezer - if I use these I can get away without shopping today

Hi everyone - a glorious sunny day here today.
Pipsmum- hope you enjoyed Beauty and the Beast - I took B to see it down here a couple of weeks ago and we thought it was done really well.
Rachelmk - hope you are wearing your tiara round the house just for fun. I couldn't stop myself when I got mine.
OH and I have been trawling the shops for a sink and taps so that we actually have a functioning sink in the kitchen but can't find one the right size. Looks like we will have to replace the worktop too. :mad:
1) Car booty tastic day - cheap clothes for T, DVDs for 50p and computer games for B.
2) Got very cheap DVDs at Homebase too. Today we got 12 films for less than £10!
3) Phone charger from Maplin for 30p.
4) SC 10p + 10p
5) Changed SO for childminder and set up a SO for the extra to pay to my CC.
6) Going to a free music festival tonight down by the river. Shoud be fun!
See you tomorrow,
L x0
