It never rains but it blooming pours!!!!!!!
Just when I thought that my life was starting to get better, I find out that my hubby has been gambling online..
I will admit that I had a nosey at his emails & this is how I found out. He doesnt think he has a problem as he had some pretty big wins in the beginning but I noticed his bank statement today & in the last 4 days he has lost £700.
As some of you will know, my hubby & I have always kept our financila affairs separate (thanks goodness because of my own br) but I just feel like its 1 step forward & a hundred steps back.
I have got him to admit that he has a gambling problem & I know that admitting the problem is the first step but he just doesnt seem to think that its a big deal because he is xxx amount up
I wanted my own br to be the clear step into our families new future & now all this has come out... I feel so down
Im really sorry to rant on but you guys were just so great to me when I was going through my br, I feel like you are my friends..
xx

Hi thatsyourlot,
Im sorry I dont have any useful advice for your situation, but just wanted to say im here for support anytime. You have been through such a lot with going BR recently and I can understand why you feel so down.
Any money related issues can be very hard to approach calmly when you are recently BR. At least its out in the open now and talking about it will surely help you.
Hugs to you Angie x0 -
Thanks so much for that Angie

Sorry to here about your difficulties ((hugs))
Have you spoken to Gamblers Anonymous to get some help for yourself, even if your OH isn't interested they could offer some support to you.

Hi TYL
Chin up Hun. I know its difficult but at least its out in the open now & you can start to sort it out. Sorry I don`t understand the gambling thing but I know it is very destructive & can be hidden for many years.
Did`nt want to just read & run...sending you <<hugs>>
Great post btw Tiger.

Awww thanks guys, I knew I could rely on you lot to cheer me along..
I have told my hubby about the meetings & there are a few options, we have got a couple of cities near us that both have the meetings, so I will go along with him.
He has mobile broadband on his laptop, so I have taken the dongle thing out & hidden it, so at least he cant go online to to gamble, & he will not get past my passwords for unlocking the key board on my computer.
We go away to cyprus in a few weeks, so Im hoping we can make a start at the meetings before we go & then just relax on holiday
Thanks again everybody

Just take it easy Hun ( on yourself & on your OH)...its one day at a time...as with all things like this...be it alcohol, smoking or whatever.
Every day is a small step in the right direction. Get the right support so you can let out your frustrations...don`t bottle stuff up as that will eat away at you.

There is a gambling support thread on DFW, which might be helpful.
There is also a program you could put on the computer that will block gambling sites.
Also check out Gamcare, there is quite a good support forum on there.
