What or how do i find out the consquences of defaulting on a £18000 loan?

  • Hi, Im hoping some one can help me please im at risk of losing my home due to.... My ex- huband taking a loan out with picture, it was secured on house. He took ppi out.. he borrowed £10,000 they want £12,987.45 . He walked out over 3 years ago, they say i can't claim as its on him not on the loan, surely if you take a ppi out it should be on the loan/ house ... and if I can't claim surely they ppi may be missold.... ??? p

    Do you jointly own the house with your ex? If so, did you sign the papers allowing him to secure the loan on the property? The fact that your ex has walked out is no basis for putting in a claim, as the policy would not have covered this event. If the PPI is only in his name, he would be the only onewho could claim from the policy for unemployment, sickness for example, this would also apply for a claim for misselling. Who has been keeping up the payments since he left.
