Just been down to the local mini-mart (won't name it in case they stop letting the following situation happen) and they had some rather nice pasties reduced from £1.39 to 67p, and on a bogof. I didn't know about the bogof until the girl on the till told me that I was getting them for -5p for two, so I went back and got another two (that was all they had), thus reducing my original bill by another 5p!

So four free suppers ;D. Am I dancing and singing and rejoicing? ::) - well yes, but I forgot to flash my loyalty card so have lost out on 12p! ???

I really need to get a grip - please someone, remind me that saving money isn't everything .

A very happy 2005 to everyone on this wonderful site, and may we all keep the faith without going overboard!

Hmm - if you have a bill of -5p for pastries - does that mean you pay *them* loyalty points...?

A good point! But I had other things (mostly bargains too) so the total bill was.... almost £4 .

Well, I spent most of last night trying to convert my friends to the MSE way of being. I think that Martin needs to give them a talking to as well! I was trying to explain the benefits of me spending half my time on these message boards............................ saving money on bills etc etc. And food - got all my wine for New Year's Eve from special offers at Tesco! ;D

Sadly not - I asked before I went to grab the extra two, and she said I had to have them as part of a shop that did include something I was paying for! So I asked her to hold the total of my existing bill, which she did.

I don't know whether she will go far, or be out of work if this gets out - nice girl though ;D.
