HELP! Any advice greatly recieved! Re bank request 4 bank charges

Hi, I wonder if anyone can help?

On the 7th of sept i sent the 1st template letter requesting a list of bank charges to BARCLAYS, On the 9th of september i receieved a letter from 1ST Credit introducing themselves saying that they had now taken over the account and the balance was owed to them. It also said if i wanted to see information held about me i should send them £10 (not mentioning the temlate letter i sent to barclays) Im not sure if its coincidence that i've got this letter or because barclays have passed it straight o them.

What should i do now? can barclays just wash the hands of my account? do i carry on tryin to get a list of charges from 1st credit instead?? Any advice would be kindly appreciated!!! Thank you.

    Hi Rachel

It just means I was 'bumping' the thread back to page one for more people to see it as you had slipped to page 3. I hoped someone might be able to answer better than me. But as you haven't received any other answers I'll do my best

Okay so the first letter you sent to Barclays- that was to ask for a list of charges under the data protection act yes? If so did you include the required £10 fee?

If you have formally disputed your account then Barlcays are not allowed to sell on your account. But given the dates of the letters this look like a co-incidence and Barclays are entitled to sell the debt on if the account is not in dispute.

If you didn't enclose the fee last time you can still request details of your bank charges by sending a new subject access request with the £10 fee.

    Hope this helps a bit.
