Worried and trying not to be

We have missed 2 mortgage payments and have been br for 1 month. OR told me to go to Northern Rock and set voluntary repossesion underway. NR insisted we sign the liability form unless they couldn't go ahead with vol repo.. we havn't signed.

Moving out of mortgaged home next week so will apply for 6 month exemption but what happens after then!? I doubt my house will be repo'd in those 6 months and paying for 2 council taxes will send us over the edge as we have very little surplus to speak of.

Help, it's really getting to me now - trying to forget about it as 6 months is ages away but I can't.

  • there is no 'fast track' way of going through forced repo, the only advice i can give is when it gets to court, reply stateing you have no objections to the repo order, as that can speed things up sometimes. Most people ignore the court paper work as they dont see the point, but that is a mistake if you want it to go through as quickly as possable

Its just a question of how long it takes for NR to get to that stage though:confused:
Thats it, i am done, Blind-as-a-Bat has left the forum, for good this time, there is no way I can recover this account, as the password was random, and not recorded, and the email used no longer exits, nor can be recovered to recover the account, goodbye all …………. :(
  • it took NR nearly a year to repo ours :-( we did struggle to pay the council tax too but at that point we still didnt have any idea we would end up BR

Miche, it's a bit rich coming from me  but don't worry about something you can't control. (hmm maybe I should take my own advice) :D

The chances are that it will take NR longer than 6m to repo, all I can suggest is maybe try to put whatever you can afford aside now in a pot for when/if the worst case scenario plays out?

Easier said than done I know but thought I'd suggest it FWIW.

I'm going off to eat my own words now......

I know, I know, i'm having a neurotic moment. Not bad, havn't had one in 2 weeks. That's going to have to be the plan doll, save as much as we can now.

    I'm calm, I'm calm
  • Dont forget though when/if you have to pay two lots of council tax they can appear on your SOA thus reducing any ipa
