Hi everyone! First off, thank you all for your lovely anniversary wishes. Although we didn't do anything special it was a nice day.

Thanks everyone for wishing my Mom-in-law a happy 90th. She had a very memorable day and all the residents at the home were over the moon with their goody bags! (My daughter and I were tallying up how much the goody bags, the beer and wine cost and I was shocked it came to just over £400! Thanks to Tesco and their coupon policy I was able to afford to do something nice for 30 well deserving people!) Mad, I will give that big kiss to MIL next time I see her for you.

Right, now some coupon news. On Friday I went to one of the Tesco's I use regular and the checkout manager was the supervisor at the tills and she would not accept any coupons that did not have my name on it. When I told her I did not have any control over how couponnet's program printed the coupon (such as having Personalised Coupon or Couponnet in the name box on the coupon) she basically said tough. She also would not accept any coupon that said "Save" on it, such as the Energizer's and Carlsburg coupons. When I asked why, she said the policy had changed due to abuse of photocopies and any coupon that said "Save" on it from now on you have to buy the item to use the coupon. I don't know how they have had photocopies go through as all coupons must be checked by the supervisor. The only thing I can think of is the staff are abusing the coupons.

On Sunday when I went to a different Tesco for last minute stuff for MIL's party, there were 4 women in front of me at the till all using coupons. They must be lurkers as I noticed they were using coupons we agreed not to use like the 50p Wall's and most of their coupons looked like photocopies to me as they would not scan, even with the gun, and the nice young lad typed them in manually. The lady directly in front of me tried to use the £3.80 Pedigree coupon at which I told the SA that Tesco did not sell that item. It didn't go through anyway, though, as there wasn't that much left to take off the bill anyway. When it was my turn to go through the till I told the SA (who the day before I had given him the web address to this forum) that he really needs to come on and read this thread to learn what is what! I told him about the Wall's and Pedigree coupons and explained that a lot of the coupons he took from them looked dodgy to me. He had taken so many coupons that he was putting them in a carrier bag, I just hope I'm wrong and they are all kosher as I sure hope the policy does not change in this store again as it did before. For 8 months they had stopped taking internet coupons due to photocopies. Mind you, the plus side to them stopping the coupons for 8 months was that I found other stores that did so now I have a few stores I use.;)

Sorry for such a long post.
Murphy knows me too well and sticks to me like glue!

Do you get a till spit like with the beers

No, I included the bottle in my shopping, the SA had to press certain buttons at the till and the discount came off before the total.
