Kerastese or Redken?

I must say that as a salon owner for 10 years we tried them all!!!! Tigi, nexxus, kerastase , paul mitchell , fudge and Redken to name a few! By far the best was REDKEN. I still use it now even though I no longer have the salon- nothing gives the hair body and volume like cat or fat cat. Although you really need colour-extend for coloured hair. Even our clients say that their colours are staying truer for longer- in other words, not fading as fast. I wouldn't use a cheap shampoo with a good conditioner, its just not worth it. When you work out how much you actually use and the cost per year compared to elvive, or some other crud it actually saves you money. Also you can buy it in ltr bottles which works out even better value.
You can buy various treatments for your hair which should be used no more than every 5 washes. You can also have these done at the salon , they are alot more concentrated than for home use.
But as previously mentioned try to lay off the heat!!!!! And ALWAYS use some kind of styling product to protect the hair-a bit!!!
Paul Mitchell is a very cheap , professional range that is also quite good. But REDKEN definately gets my vote.
And we won a trip to eurodisney for 3 days with them 1 year for doing a great window display. How fab was that!!!! Except that it was november and minus 7 and I was 3 months pregnant at the time so couldn't go on much!!!!!
Hope that helps.0 -
I have thick coarse curly coloured hair that I blow dry and straighten regularly.
I've been using Kerastase for over a year and would never use anything else. The condition of my hair has improved so much, that I know no longer need such a moisturising shampoo and have reduced from bain satin 2 to BS1. I use the treatment conditioner in the orange tub regularly to keep my hair shiny. People always comment that my hair looks healthy and they never ever used to.
Ive tried loads of shampoos and conditioners, from John Frieda, Pantene, Tigi and Redken and would never go back.
In fact, does anybody know of any sites where you can import kerastase on the cheap? I'm currently using stuff I got from ebay but am always on the look out for cheaper sites.0 -

I have to colour my hair at least once every four weeks other wise I would have a mallen streak
Hair is in terrible condition and noticed some has started breaking off.
Decided I need to try and get it into better condition and regularly see kerastase products recommended in magazines.
