We bought our dishwasher from here which was a good bargain even with the 30 quid delivery charge on top. When we got it we found that it did not have the child lock feature it said on the listing so I contacted them and they offered me a refund. I replied that as we had already disposed of the old one and plumbed in the new one I wasn't about to return it and start from scratch with the whole process and suggested they give me partial refund to compensate for the missing feature. To my surprise they actually agreed and gave me a 40 quid refund!
On the downside it didn't come with a manual which I had to order from Bosch and it had some marks. Be wary about what you are ordering as some models may have design faults which is why they have been returned by the original customer. For instance, I was looking seriously into bidding on a telly but a bit of rooting around on the internet found lots of customers have had issues with that model so I might have been buying something that needed to go straight back again.
Has anyone had to return anything to the auction site? I suspect you can't just drop it into the store.0 -
anyone in west mids area can call in to the comet discount warehouse, prices similar to the auction site, but you get to see what you are buying, its in willenhall, nr wolverhampton. dont know if there are any othr ones around the country.

Just a note for some people, if you are missing or lost manuals for appliances many of them are downloadable from the manufactures website.
eg the one for Bosch is
http://www.bshappliancecare.com/Bosch/boschspares.html and you click on "instruction manuals" top right. I know Sony and Panasonic have the manuals on there sites in the 'service & support' sections.
!Avoid the websites who sell lost manuals for up to £20!0 -

As you may guess I am slightly annoyed by these guys!
I purchased a DVD Recorder from their site for £100, The item was described as “Ex-display, unboxed”, & condition says ”Medium scratch (top) – between two and five inches long”.
I wasn’t too concerned about a scratch as I would probably put this in my cabinet so not really see the scratch.
The DVD recorder arrived, I unboxed it and was unhappy to see 2 dents in the top, many scratches and scuffs all over the casing of the recorder, also the front pull-down flap being loose (one of the catches is broken), this is therefore Not As Described, and therefore misleading!
I have returned the recorder to my local Comet store on St.Andrews Quay, Hull, and expected a full refund. The girl at the Customer Services desk rang through to check she could refund the money and was happy to refund my £100 auction bid but couldn’t refund the £7.95 delivery charge due to some rubbish regarding this is the delivery cost and nothing to do with Comet! She said I could always complain to the Comet Clearance hence this letter.
I am very unhappy and quite bemused that Comet have shrugged this off as “nothing to do with us”, if the product description had been correct I wouldn’t have purchased it in the 1st place.
I have suggested they make sure their product condition reports are correct before placing them on your website.
Now I am out of pocket by £7.95 and am unhappy to put this down to experience, obviously I won’t make the same mistake again, after all £7.95 is still £7.95.0 -
