My girlfriend has entered into an arrangement with Bryon & Keeley and is currently paying them near £100 for their "services".
Is there any way to cancel the contract with Byron & Keeley as one assumes the neogitation and agreement to pay the creditors at certain levels has already been accepted.
Many thanks

Is she paying £100 per month into a DMP or is she pay £100 per month in fees?
Whichever, she needs to read their terms and conditions and work out how to terminate the agreement. She can then start a DMP with one of the debt charities, with no fees.If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -
She is paying £100 per month just in charges for Bryon.0

is this a DMp or an IVA?
If it is a DMP, she needs to terminate the arrangment and go to a debt charity. They will do the same thing for free, or GF can run her own DMP. The creditors will be very happy to have an extra £100 pro rata divied between them rather than funding B&K.If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -
I have just spoke to her and its an IVA not a DMP. Does that mean it cannot be terminated ?0
-
Unfortunately yes. IVAs are normally terminated by going bankrupt. They are an Insolvency arrangement.
Given the sort of sum involved, it may well be a real IVA, but can you ask GF to check her paperwork. Somethimes peope have been tod they are on an IVA and it is only when they get here and check that they discover that it is nothing of the sort. She will have had a creditors' meeting if they helps. If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -
Okay will ask her tonight. It was before l was on the scene as such but she never completed any court paper work, never attending court and only ever signed one document. Sounds like a DMP to me0
-
it could be either - she may not have to attend court for an IVA.If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0

It's ByroM & Keeley. According to the 'parent' Accuma Group - they 'set up and manage informal debt management plans for our clients'
http://www.accumagroup.com/about-us
If that is the case, £100 per month fee is appalling and they should be ditched in favour of CCCS/Payplan immediately.
However, the Byrom & Keeley site itself says that they do IVAs and a 60 x £100 fee would be about normal in an IVA.
Then again, I note that when you click through for an IVA it takes you to 'Thomas Charles'.0
