Second loan advice needed`

Hi all,

Just wondering if anyojne can give me their thoughts on applying for a second loan.

Basically, I have a loan with Northern Rock which I have been paying on a regular basis, but around a month ago I spoke with NR to change my loan repayments to free up funds (as I was struggling to meet payments on credit cards), and it ended up that the loan was changed over etc no problem, but it was effectively a new loan application altogether.

Now I am wanting to get rid of as many credit cards and I think that a second loan to consolidate the cards (and subsequently close them cards) into one repayment would be very helpful.

However, since the change in the NR loan appeared to be pretty much a new loan application then is that likely to cause a problem for me if i apply for 2nd loan now?

I have had one or two missed/late payments on cards, and thats the main reason why I want to get a loan with a repayment that fits in with my budget and get rid of the cards so that I can stop any debts mounting and instead get them repaid.

Cheers
