Apologies if this is in wrong forum, no idea where to put it.
Does anyone work for NHS Direct as an advisor? If so can you tell me what the shift patterns are like? I am being put up for this job with an agency and they said it would be 24 hour shift pattern working 7.5hrs per day, but I have never done shifts before so no idea what that means and the lady is out of the office until monday!! Just want to know a bit more about it.
Thanks in advance

I'm not sure about NHS direct, but when I worked in a hospital doing shifts there were basically 3 types of shifts -
Earlies - 7:30-3:30ish
Lates - 1:30-9:30ish
Nights - 9:00-8:00ish
They may also offer day shifts doing a normal 9-5 day.
They can take a toll on you after a while especially if you have to swap between them all the time but you'll also find that you somehow have a lot more free time and can do things like shopping mid-week when it's quiet!
A friend of mine spent some time working with NHS direct and they really enjoyed it.0 -
Thank you!
Doesn't anyone else actually work for NHS Direct??
