Advice needed ref bonus payments

Hi all
I've been a lurker for some time and am busy snowballing my credit card debts but need your advice on bonus payments at work. My DH is a salesman and gets paid £5K p/a plus 30% commission on sales which is fine. However when he originally started he signed a contract which subsequently she who must be obeyed changed so that he wasn't paid anything pro rata for holidays. Things have now come to a head again. Part of the pay structure included a £500 per month bonus for reaching target. Again this got changed to be paid 6 months in arrears which was fine - just meant a lump sum every 6 months  Some time ago the boss decided that the sales guys should reach target for 4 out of the 6 months or they would forfeit the lot! None of the sales guys signed this amendment as they didn't agree. Anyway, nothing more was said and this month it was due to be paid and guess what - Nothing. All of the sales guys had really bad months in January & February so not just my hubby.
Question is - where do we stand legally?
I really do not see the point of having a contract of employment if she can just change it on a whim and always to her benefit
My DH has worked there for 6 years and in all that time has had 1 day off sick - is always on time etc etc. This is making me really angry as his bonus would have been £2K which was our spending money amongst snowballing for holiday in July.
I don't know if this is the right board so please feel free to move. Would appreciate any advice or if you have experienced a similar situation what the outcome was.

Call ACAS - they will give you free advice and I have always found them to be better than CAB on employment issues.
08457 474747 - you will get straight through to someone who can help you.
It sounds very unfair and you must be very frustrated!0 -
I'd try ACAS as well. They provide free advice and are experts in employment conflicts.0

There are helplines here http://www.acas.org.uk/index.aspx?articleid=454 but it looks like they are Monday to Friday.
I'm not a lawyer but as far as I know workers in the UK are entitled to four weeks' paid holiday per year, so unless there is some reason why it wouldn't apply in his case, it sounds as if she is on shaky ground with that one (although I'd guess it would be based on his basic wage rather than commission, so it mightn't be a huge amount of money). I also think she would be on dodgy ground trying to enforce a change to his contract that he didn't sign. The biggest problem would be if his only remedy is to resign and then bring a claim in the employment tribunal, which is obviously a pretty risky route to take.0
