CSA percentages query

Hi I wonder if anyone can help me with this question.

Just hypothetically if my ExOH earns £20,000 pa his net weekly income would be approx £300 pw. So from the CSA calculations he would pay £45 pw in maintenance for 1 child. He has no children living with him and has child less than 52 days per year. So he would be paying 15% of his income.
I realise that if he had children living with him it would be less. But how does it work out for 2 children from 2 different pwc's?

So in the case of my ExOH he has 2 children with different women. If I went through the CSA to get my maintenance and then other pwc did the same would we have the 15% split between us so effectively get £22.50 pw each? I guess that in fact because there are 2 children that 20% would actually be taken so we would get 10% each. But would like clarification for this.

Thanks

Thanks that's what I thought but the website doesn't exactly say that. This is all I could find.

Quote : What happens if the non-resident parent has to pay for other children?
If a non-resident parent has to pay child maintenance to more than one parent with care through us, we work out the total amount of child maintenance the non-resident parent has to pay through us. We then share this amount between equally so the same amount is paid for each child.

The non-resident parent can make payments of the total amount through us, and we will then pass on the right amount to each parent with care. Or, the non resident parent can pay each parent with care directly.

Still even at 10% it would still be more than he is supposed to be paying through our personal arrangement. Silly boy really should've just paid what I asked for on time. Second time in 7 months I've not had the money with just a lame excuse. This time it's Barclay's fault as they have not paid the direct debit lol

EDIT: That's very strange, I was sure there was a reply from Zara33....(I think) which I was replying to. Oh well

  • It would be 20% of his net pay divided equally between the 2 PWCs. ie 10% each.
