Yay, someone on freecycle wants books, so I'm going to get rid of a load to them. I'm going to keep the ones that are likely to sell though, and list them on Amazon when I can.
Now, let's hope Karma rewards me with someone getting rid of a freezer... in fact, I might join the Bradford and York groups too, widen the net a bit. Don't think that's against the rules is it?Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0 -
most freecycle groups discourage cross posting - usually have rules that mean you have to ask/offer on your local group first then other groups if you dont get item - leaving a decent period of time between asking on each group:j Debt-Free-Wannabe! :jDeclutter/Ebay/Savings0

Evening all
I am so shattered. looking forward to the weekend if only for the vague hope of sleep.
Good on getting rid of the books Ames.
I was going to write something else but between reading and typing I have forgotten it all.
My hand hurts.

Ah right, thanks for that. I'll just stick to Leeds then. I wasn't going to ask, just respond to any offers, but then again the amount of stuff I've given away in the last month maybe I should try asking. Although none of the people who took stuff did a received ad, so maybe I can't?
Which reminds me, I've got a load more things to offer, I'll do that tonight.Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0 -

unsure what you mean?
you offer - you post a taken
your ask - post a received if get item?
dont know about your group but most are absolutely fine about asking for items - just discourage massive shopping lists wanted etc, I know our group does get freezers from time to time so worth a try.:j Debt-Free-Wannabe! :jDeclutter/Ebay/Savings0 -
When I offered things people collected them and didn't post to say they'd received them. I did a taken response, but wasn't sure if that's enough for me to be allowed to post a wanted ad? After all, anyone could offer something and say it's been taken, even if it was a complete lie.
Although the amount of stuff I've still got to give away, I'm sure someone will eventually post a received reply!Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0 -

in our group we dont allow people to post a receieved unless they asked for the items ie made a wanted post to the group. anyone posting received for items offered by another member just gets told to send thanks directly to that member.
wanteds are allowed regardless of the offer but some groups will ask you to offer something up first time when you have just joinedn group before you post a wanted - but i wouldnt imagine they actually make srue items are taken before allowing a wanted post through - its not freecycle rules at all.
So just go ahead and post it - worst thing that will happen is moderator will not allow but cant see that happening under normal rules etc especially if you havent asked for anything before - hope you manage to get something
any other freecycle questions let me know!:j Debt-Free-Wannabe! :jDeclutter/Ebay/Savings0 -
