has anyone else had problems with asda online?

I have to order my shopping 99% online as i am disabled and cant get out. I always order from mr A if i can, tonight being no different. However this evening i've gone to pay for my rediculously large (£169there goes the shoppin buget for the month!)trolly to find out i had missed the slot by 4mins! I was the diverted to another page to re order my slot to find i couldnt get my shopping until friday night:mad: ive got no bloody milk!!!!!!!!!!!! grrr anyway, i've had to now order from tesco's to get my shoppin for tomorrow morning/
Has anyone else ever had this problem? How come they dont give you a warning when your about to lose the slot? why do Mr t offer late night slots and asda dont? I've just fired off this email to them...hopin it wasnt to harsh:o

Hi,
I am very disapointed with the online shopping service. Not only have i had to hunt for contact details(when you shop online you are advised to contact via phone? I do not wish to waste my phone bill contacting you when i can do it via the net) I have lost my delivery slot due to a very dissapointing service.
I have just had a shopping trolly to the value of £169 which, as i am disabled took me over two hours to order. I went to compleate my shop only to find out my delivery slot had been lost, by 4 minutes, with no warning. I was taken to another page to re order my slot to find i will now have to wait untill friday evening to have my shopping delivered. This has now cause me great anguish as I have three children and i am sure you can apriciate we need food! As i have also pointed out i am disabled therefore cannot get out of the house to do a shop in store. I have now had to order my shop from tesco's to guarantee my shopping will arrive tomorrow morning. Not only can i not stand tesco's food(it is no comparison to your own) it has also cost me nearly £35 more!
I am absolutly gutted to be honest with you, as i always shop with asda online, and to lose out like this with out warning has really upset me. A warning a few minutes before your slot is due up would be a nice touch? and later delivery times? Tesco's i've found you can order upto 1am and have the shopping by 10am.
This upset has seriously made me consider my shopping options and now i am thinking of making tesco's my future store. Due to this silly overlook you have not only lost a very valued customer who spends on average £100 to £200 per week(a huge ammount by all means) in your store, you've primarily lost her to one of your biggest rivals

  • That's happened to me before too and they wouldn't let me change it either. i did the same as you and ended up getting my shopping delivered from Tesco but it hacked me off as it took so long to do it all again.

AFAIK the Tesco website is exactly the same. No warning when you are approaching the end of your slot. I think the same goes for Sainsburys as well.

Not sure about Ocado, they seem to spend more money on there site as its all the do. They even have an iPhone App but then you pay for it with there slightly higher prices.

  • Sainsbury's comes up with a count-down timer. But I had a problem this week as I went to amend the order just before 9 and the checkout page wouldn't work until just after 9, by which time i'd lost my order and had to change the date (costing me £4.50 for delivery)
  • yep same here i booked a slot and they never turned up, rang customer services three times and got no help from them, my shopping then arrived over 4 hours late! i complained to asda and all i got was a bloody code for free delivery off my next shop...at least when tesco's mess up they at least compensate you properly! .....maybe the amount of money they make should be spent on customer service cos they def lacking in my opinion.!
