My OH doesn't believe in adding salt to cooking water.... so I dumped some salt into the sweetcorn on the stove when he wasn't looking.
For once, he had actually put some salt in himself, so it was revolting and inedible.
Later on, I fried an onion and some chopped potato, added the over-salty sweetcorn, a chopped rasher of extra-lean bacon, a glug milk and some water, and let it simmer. When I tasted it, it was a bit bland so I put in some chicken stock cube.
Unbelievably delicious. It's supposed to be for lunch and then the freezer, but most of it is gone already .

er - i never put salt into corn on the cob - i salt it after if required. I was always told that salt would make it tough! but i guess you mean frozen or tinned sweetcorn? i like to add a bit of butter to those not salt as butter I use is salted.
that soup sounds lovely actually - might try that tomorow for lunch.0 -
Frozen. I hate salt added to stuff at the table - not exactly sure why but it always seems nicer if it's in the water.
The soup was so good and I'm just debating whether to finish it off now before bed...0
