Hello people,
As above, trying to help someone out, some money is owed to Hitachi and due to being signed off as unable to return to work again it has become impossible to pay them, two payments where made but then the d/d was cancelled.
The woman who called seemed un-sympathetic and even when told a letter is being sent to them showing income and outgoings she said...urgh one of them...and demanded payment, when told it is just not possible she said..ok i am sending you a default notice...so am just unsure exactly what it means?
Any help or advice much appreciated
Thanks

a default notice is a formal notice explaining the actions you must take to prevent the arrangement from been breached if the actions detailed in it are not done it will be recorded with the cra's for the next 6 years causing you great credit probs0

Ok thanks for that
The debt was just under 5k, looking at this now they are trying to bang on 3k interest already and charges for default etc...
Has anyone had any experience of dealing with them, for example if an amount was scraped together would they take say £2k and settle it rather than going all to court etc...?
Are they able to apply for a charge against a propety, if the house is in joint names, but the debt is just in one?0
