Trying to help the G/F out fo debt. HELP!

My g/f has, ran up some huge debts over the past 4 years, (and no I didn't know!!!) She is over £22k in debt.

She has a car loan of £6k.
A Bank loan of £6k
Visa debt £4.5k
Visa debt £500
Current Account debt £500
And another biggy that I can't remember.

Now I've gone tthrough with her and we have trimmed her outgoings down to the bare minimum, but still easyish to achieve. And have saved her almost £100 per month.

Problem is, one of the banks, and only one, are not playing fair and will not under any circumstances help her out and stop late fees etc. So she is getting £50 plus per month in charges, which is dragging her further under. I don't know if I can name them but they are part of a group that like to take a bit Xtra and want you to Try Something New Today, like getting further into debt!!! I'm at my wits end trying to reason with the customer service people, the best they will offer is a £12.50 rebate on charges out of goodwill. Somehow we need to clear her debt, and quickly, but as she has been OD and in debt so long I don't think she can even get a 0% card from anyone to jiggle her debts around.

Any help/support/advice will be greatfully recieved. And if this post is in the wrong place, please feel free to move it.
Waddle you do eh?

Hello mate. First things first we need to see a full SOA! Take a look at the sticky titled "First Time Posters" at the top of this board!

Do her wages get paid into the account that is charging her all these fees? Can she ask for her overdraft to be increased? (not for spending, only to stop these fees.)

Once you have got that area sorted you can start the process of reclaiming all the bank charges she has received for the last 6 years! ;)

hello and welcome. Have you read up on reclaiming unfair bank charges yet ? bank charges are illegal and loads of people have claimed them back. If you go to https://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk you will be able to read up and get step by step help and support whilst you make your claim. It may also help if you could post a SOA ( Statement Of Affaifs ) on here so that the debt free nerds can look at everything and give advice. There is a template for a SOA which has been made sticky on the DFW threads. Good luck and Im sure others will be along soon with more advice. All the best.
