Removing stones from Damsons

I saw a suggestion, on here I'm sure, to count your fruit into the pot. Write the number down, then count the stones out once it's cooked.0

the stones will float to the top
so you can fish them out with a slotted spoon once the fruit is cooked . Started my own business and loving being my own boss

Adsk
Can you tell me what kind of cherry & olive stoner you used as there are several different types on the 'net and vary in price!

Well, I am not adsk, but I stone my damsons - and cherries, and olives, and anything else that might need stoning - with this: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B000YJ9BPC/ref=wms_ohs_product?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I've had it for about five years, and it's still working well.0 -
I slit the damsons and pop them in the microwave for a minute and then 'squidge' the stones out.The best portion of your life will be the small, nameless moments you spend smiling with someone who matters to you.0

Nice,n,Easy! The pointy end extrudes first, making the stoning of greener fruit possible (still shoots a plug of flesh along with the pit.) Riper fruit, no problem. Still need a better pitter (not plastic) though.0

Just leave the stones in, and warn everyone that there are stones in the chutney
I did this with small plums, no one choked, they just have to take care & not shovel it it downWhen an eel bites your bum, that's a Moray0
