• Only Panasonic models use the DVD-RAM disks which are re-recordable and offer amazing features like "Time Slip" which lets you rewind and watch something from the beginning while it's still recording it (similar to what a PVR / Sky Plus box does).

There are other manufacturers whose machines record to DVD-RAM http://audiovisual.kelkoo.co.uk/b/a/cp_100304323_filter_recording_media_dvdmram.html although I'm not sure if they offer 'Time Slip' recording though.

please could you give us some idea of cost?

thanks

Richer Sounds do the DMRES20 for £169.99 http://www.richersounds.com/showproduct.php?cda=showproduct&pid=PANA-DMRES20 although that price has just gone up by a tenner as my FIL bought one two weeks ago from them for £159.99.

Stocks will eventually dry up as Panasonic have just released it's replacement the DMR-EZ25 http://www.panasonic.co.uk/dvd-recorders/dmr-ez25eb-s/index.htm . This is the one I'm holding out for, it's OSP is believed to be £249 but may be offered cheaper by the likes of Richer Sounds.
