in Cutting tax
I live alone but my son who is at University stays at home during the summer/xmas/easter holidays. Do I qualify for the 25% council tax rebate?
For every complex problem there is an answer that is clear, simple and wrong.

Your son will qualify as a full-time student so yes you will get the 25% single person's discount.0

Hi
Just for reference purposes (and this is the top of my head so I may miss a few) here is a list of the disregards for which 2 people living in a property can claim a 25% discount.
Students (eg single parent and adult child in FTE)
People who are Severely Mentally impaired (eg Elderly Couple, one of whom has dementia)
Carers (this can be complicated to explain so best off checking the procedure with your Council)
Apprentices
Prisoners
Youth Training Trainees (under 25s in certain schemes)
Permanent Hospital Patients/Care Home Residents
There are a few rarer ones too (I had to look these up though to recheck)
