Hi i am wondering if anyone can help me, i am quite in to making my home made soups for me and my little boys and invested in a kenwood fp216 food processor and i love it, but since i have had it and i blend my soups i get a very strong burning smell from the machine and am wondering if this is normal or is mine a bit dodgy and about to blow up on me:eek:.
I wait untill my soups have cooled right down before blending and have used it on the differnet speed settings and also the pulse one to see if that makes a difference but the smell is still there, it is really strong,my oh said it's probally because it is new but i have had it 3 months now, any ideas of what it might be or does anyone elses processors smell when they use it, i am getting scared to use it now and may just invest in a hand blender to use instead, but i love my little machine and want to get my moneys worth out of it:D
Any advice much appreciated

You should not have a burning smell coming from it.
I would contact Kenwood if I were you.I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.0 -
Are you sure it's a 'burning' smell? The sort of smell you'd expect if there was smoke coming out? I have a KitchenAid (posh!) and that gives of an odour but I'd describe it as an electric motor smell (you know - motors, brushes, carbon, that sort of smell) rather than burning. It was quite strong when it was new, but 2 years later it's still there, and I use the blender all the time.0

it is more like a motor type smell, like the longer i use it the stronger it gets.......definately no smoke though else the thing would be flying out my back door:eek::rotfl::j:j:j0
