We've got 6 very excited children at the prospect of a 'bunji jumping thing', anyone got any experience of them and know if they're any good ?

i ordered one last friday and had it delivered by next day delivery(35 pounds!) for my sons birthday, he is 9. Wish I hadnt bothered, he has used it twice and his friends have used it, but they all complain that the straps that go round the legs cut into them so after a couple of minutes they want to get off. So basically it takes you about 4 hours to put the thing together about 15 minutes to strap them in and then they want to come off. My friend used it she weighs about 10 stone she said it was ok but it really cut into her legs, and of course the straps dont stay on the legs where you see them in the photo on Newitts because when you bounce up and down they rise up and almost cut you in half. Also I dont think much of the cord that you wind up and down, mine got tangled on the handle. I have written to them and complained that it is so uncomfortable they cant use it - I got a reply the next day saying they would look into it ( that was tuesday) but havent heard a thing since.

You are, of course, entitled to return it for a full refund under the Distance Selling Regs within seven days of receipt. And if you registered a complaint within this time, that they haven't resolved, then that would cover you I'm sure. As it is a problem with the goods, rather than you simply deciding you don't like them, then you are also entitled to a full refund of the delivery charge.

Has anyone else tried one of these? I am expecting mine to be delivered today and I am panicking a bit after reading julie114s post.

I did read it gromituk but was hoping someone might have had a good experience to report. I am not looking forward to the possibility of having to go through the hassle of returning it if they are generally uncomfortable to use. Also if it takes 4 hours to erect, my husband will only be able to look at it at the weekend which eats into the time allowed for returning it.

It only eats into the time allowed for despatching it. So long as you let them know you are returing it, it doesn't matter if it arrives with them more than 7 days after you received it.

hi just to let you know that i have had a reply from Newitts and they said i could return it for a full refund.
They were unusually nice about it this is their reply
"Thank you for your email. We have checked all our stock and they are
    >all the same, it does say they are adjustable for both adult and
    >Juniors. We can only therefore refund your card in full as we do not
    >have any different ones in stock. We do apologise for the inconveince this has caused".

I emailed them back and asked if they would refund the 35 pounds postage and have just had a reply saying yes they will refund the whole amount including postage.

Thank goodness for that. I wouldnt have used it again but i couldnt have thrown it away after spending 85 pounds!! Thought about trying to sell it on ebay but when my husband took it down the frame was bent so couldnt really sell it on.
I get the feeling that they know that they are not very good hence the reduction. Oh well nearly had a bargain.
If any of you get your bunji and you get it working ok let me know

Ordered my Bungi Jumper Kit Saturday. It arrived today the delivery driver was brilliant and extremely helpful. All went well until we opened the box later this evening to find half the parts missing, or at least I think they are as they is no parts list or instructions to establish what is missing.

I can only say that I wish we had a harness or even Bungi ropes and fittings(fundamental to this piece of apparatus) to see if they did cut into our legs!!!

At present all we have is an expensive frame rendered useless by the lack of instructions and cructial parts.

I have emailed Newitts and will post the outcome.
