What's particularly dodgy about this stuff is that the paracetamol content makes it extremely toxic in overdose...

That's often how the DF118 combination drugs, containing dihydrocodeine and paracetamol, used as a cheapo-substitute by heroin junkies, ends up killing them. Slowly, very painfully, and usually irreversibly. The codeine is addictive but it's not that which kills them - it's the paracetamol.

A number of over-the-counter analgesics in the UK are to carry new labels that will warn of the risk of misuse and addiction.

The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency has announced new advice on OTCs containing codeine and dihydrocodeine, following recommendations from the government’s scientific advisory body, the Commission on Human Medicines. The changes will include “clear and prominently positioned warnings” on the label and patient information leaflet about the risk of addiction, and the importance of not taking these medicines for longer than three days.

You can also pick up medicine syringes from our local chemist for free, not sure if they all do it, but may be worth asking.

I get these from work if I need one. (No different from asking the pharmacy to let me have one before I am accused of defrauding the NHS for millions..lol) However I saw last week that Hobbycraft sell 20ml syringes for £1.95 EACH!!!!!!
